Our camp is located in a village on the Gurage mountains; it is an original example of one of the most beautiful rural architectures in Ethiopia.
Wake up early in the morning in a village, wait for the stars in the night under a big tree, fall asleep listening to the flow of a river…our tented camps are simple and small accommodations in great naturalistic location that allow you to enjoy this experience in a safe environment and in contact with the local communities.
Our Gurage hut is located at 230 km from Addis Ababa and 30 km from Endibirr, at 2200 m asl.
There are several activities: excursions with half-day or one-day hiking; relax on the banks of streams and bath in the clean water; watch the women preparing the bread from the false banana trees; visit the weekly markets in the nearby towns.
Facilities
The hut was not modified, so it still shows one of the most beautiful architectures in Ethiopia. It is 8 m width with two fireplaces and four beds; dry toilet and shower are just next the hut.
All meals are included and prepared by our experienced cook. Vegetarian or vegan menus are available on request. We cook local, fresh and organic products; the water is provided in reusable jars. Please bring your own reusable bottle.
