Photos and tips
We always recomand to ask for permission to take photos. In some place people ask payment for any photo taken and the amount is to be negotiated with the people. We recommend not to give money when not request and not to give objects, candies to children on the road or in the country, in order to upset their daily life ( they often leave their occupations and sometime school to run after tourist; this way the tourist becomes, unconsciously, responsible of a real cultural impoverishment)
We suggest to consult the guide to give donations or anything else to school and other organisations.
You can usually take photos celebrations in copt churches, but we think you shold mantein anyway a distance of respect.
This is also valid for muslim celebrations.
We are not keen to get tribe celebrations organized for us, so the visitor will be able to see only the spontaneous ones he might casualy meet.
Clothes
Practical and light clothes and light shoes, hat and sunglasses. Something warm for the evening and waterproof jacket.
We recommend to take extra socks to put on in the churches, where it is compulsory to take off the shoes to get in. We recommend to get in the churches with fit clothes, especially during rites.
It is useful to take a torch with you, both for the camp and to better watch the painting in the churches which are often little lit.
